Day 16 - Callao (Lima), Peru (Day 1)

Sunday was the first of two days in Lima, Peru. We arrived early and were docked by 6 AM at the port of Callao .  We did not have any excursions booked for today so we just took it easy. We checked out the vendors who had set up on the pier. After that, Kathy went back to the ship and I took the shuttle bus provided  to the Miraflores District of Lima. There is a shopping center there that is built into the top of the cliffs along the shoreline.
Later we watched the Superbowl in  one of the  theaters and one of the lounges.

Approaching the port of Callao which serves Lima. This was at 5:00 AM

Many container ship cranes here.

Where we will dock.

Boothe for vendors starting to be opened.

No sun at sunrise. Too many clouds.

A gigantic automobile carrier ship next to us. I heard it holds 8000 vehicles.

Some signs of the sunrise,

They started up the early morning stretch classes that Kathy like to do.

Finally saw a bit of the sun

The captain goes out and checks the conditions of each pier we use.

Gulls on the ship's tie lines.
