Day 10 - Fuente Amador, Panama (Day 2)

 After overnighting at the cruise terminal in Fuente Amador which is on a small island at the end of a causeway south of Panama City, we hads a full day here. Our excursion today was "Aerial Tram and Ecological Encounter". We took a bus ride up  the canal to the town of Gamboa.  There we went to the Gamboa  Rainforest  Reserve. We rose an aerial tram through the tree tops to the top of a hill. There there is a 100 foot tower that we climbed to the top  for a spectacular rive of the canal, that Chagres River which is the source of the water used the operate the lock of the canal.  Then we went to the Sloth Sanctuary and Nature Labs.

We had sight of some ships starting through the canal from the Pacific side.

There is a beautiful hotel in the reservee. We stopped there for a few minutes for refreshments.

Back to the ship,

This is the  new cruise ship terminal officially opened in December 2023. When we were here in early 2023 they were in the middle of construction that they had to work around it.
