Wednesday our port-of-call was A Coruna. This is a port city on a promontory on the northwest coast of Spain the was founded in the 3rd century BC.
Our excursion here was "A Coruna & Betanzos". Betanzos is a small town of 13,1000 founded in 1219. It site on a hill that had previously been a fort that protected the area where 2 rivers met the sea.
Our stay here got extended because of a storm brewing in the Bay of Biscay west of France and another one north of that. We stayed until 11PM and will be skipping Brest, France and sailing to Portsmouth, England, arriving half a day early.
We loved our stay in this city that we had never heard of before and hope to get back here someday.
