We arrived at the approach to Portland harbor about 10AM but because of wind conditions and another ship being at our dock because we arrived early, we sat and waited outside the harbor until we were scheduled to arrive. Portland is the port town for the city of Weymouth.
In other port news, the captain announced that because of spreading pension age protest violence in France, we would be cancelling our visit to Le Havre, France and would instead go to Dover, England.
No sunrise to be seen today because of fog.
Strong winds kept blowing the doors from the back Sea View deck into the Lido restaurant open early in the morning so I created a temporary door stop
Strong gale force winds in the early morning subsided during the day but it stayed foggy/cloudy until evening.
By evening, the fog had lifted some so we could see the land at Portland.
An opening in the clouds as the sun was about to set. That is the harbor breakwater across the harbor entrance.
The sun shoed up in the open patch of sky on the horizon.
The sun has set.
A little post sunset glow
