Day 114 - Akureyri, Iceland / Scenic Cruising of Eyjafjordur

Sunday, our port of call was Akureyri which sits at the end of the Eyjafjordur fjord which is Iceland's longwet fjord  at 45 miles  long. The excursion we had booked was cancelled so we just walked around town. We had been here once  before.

Sunset approaches

Th entrance to the fjord was absolutely flat .  I saw lots od wildlife in the  early morning light

Where I started seeing the wildlife.

A bird taking off

I think this was a whale just with a bit of it's head out of the water. Later in the day, the captain told us that a pod of 6 humpback whales was seen near the entrance to the fjord. I saw about 6y of this type of activity in the water about the same time

I am pretty sure this is the top of the head of a whale. Just not sure what type of whate.

The sun is up
