Day 101 - Ijmuiden (Amsterdam), The Netherlands

Monday we  docked in the port of Ijmuiden which serves Amsterdam. We have been to Amsterdam several times befoire. Our excursion was "Amsterdam Highlights and Canal Cruise". It was a national holiday - "Liberation Day" and we were not sure what the  traffic and congestion would be. We  left at 8;30 and were back at the ship by 1 PM and did not notice any heavy traffic but I suspect the afternoon was worse. In gthe past we have sailed up the North Sea Channel and docked at the cruise terminal in the city center but this time we docked at Ijmuiden which is before the locks used to enter the channel. It is a 45 minute drive to the city center.
