Day 78 - Mindelo, Cape Verde

 Saturday, our port-of-call was the city of Mindelo on the island of Saint Vincent in Cape Verde off the west coast of Senegal in Africa. Cape Verde is and independent country which became independent from Portugal in b1975. It consists of 10 islands, 9 of which are inhabited.

Our excursion today was "Panoramic Cape Verde".  We travelled by bus up to the top of th highest mountain on the island - Monte Verde which is 2441 ft /744 meters) high. We saw several of the beaches on the island

Then we went to see a beach. We were tod all the sand here had blown over from the Sahara Desert.
