Day 64 - Entering the Amazon River (Barra Norte Sea)

 We entered the mouth of the Amazon overnight and sailed up to the city of Macapa where we took on 2 river pilots and were checked by immigration/customs officers. We then proceeded up the Amazon all day. Our next stop will be at Santarem on Sunday morning.

Thet have many of the outside lights either turned off or dimmed to help stop the attraction of insect at night

The city of Macapa ahead. We will not stop[ here but 2 river pilots and several immigration/customs officials came on for awhile to clear us to enter
