Our second day in Rio de Janeiro. Our excursion today was 'Tijuca Rain Forest by 4 Wheel Drive". We were in 3 vehicles with 8 in each one. Tijuca National Park is the largest urban national park in the world. It is part of the Atlantic Forest Biosphere Preserve and was created in 1961. It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. It is 9,780 acres large. More than 239 species of animals and birds live in the park.
