Day 53 - Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (Day 1)

 

Our first day in Rio de Janeiro. Our excursion was not until after luch so we walks=ed around a bit in the morning.  Our excursion was "Corcovado & Rio Highlights"

The mountain with the cloud  across it is Corcovado. This mountain has the statue "Christ the Redeamer" atop it. The statues is one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World

Mid morning we went for a walk down the street towards a plaza the was used for the 2016 Olympics

The Science Museum which opened in 2016 is now connected toe the plaza.

After lunch we left on out ecursion to Corcovado Mountain and up to the to to see the Christ the Redeemer statue
