Day 85 - Banjul, The Gambia

Wednesday, our port of call was at Banjul in the country of The Gambia. The country is a wide, narrow country surrounded on three sides by Senegal. It is the smallest country in mainland Africa. Banjul is the capital of the country and has a population of about 31,000 .

We did not have an excursion today.

There has been controversy over visas for The Gambia
a) if people who stayed on the ship needed one . Initial info said they did not but it ended up everyone needed the $155 visa
b) which nationalities needed one.  I as a Canadian did not need one but Kathy who is American did. (reciprocity on visa requirements by the USA. Gambia citizens need a $160 visa to enter the USA).

I had a lot of fun taking lots of pictures without ever leaving the port.
