Day 62 - at Sea

Monday was the 3rd of 4 days at sea as we sail to Maputo, Mozambique. T  sea swell was as high as it has been but the interval  is shorter so the ship does not pitch forward/backwards near as much.  Tropical Cyclone Freddy did a 180 degree turn and is now headed north-west towards northern Mozambique. We are feeling les and less of it effects as we are now mostly out of it's range. The storm is being reported as the longest-lived and one-of-a-kind tropical cyclone in history. It started Feb 3 north-west of Australia.

We were invited to attend the Jewish celebration of Purim holiday which commemorates the delivering of the Jewish people from Haman, an official of the Achaemenid Empire who was planning to have all of Persia's Jewish subjects killed as recounted in the Book of Esther.

First light of the day.

then the colors stopped

First sight of the sun.

Cyclone Freddy's location at 3PM Monday (larger green dot). It is headed north-west.

Our position Monday afternoon.  We are headed to Maputo (#22)

We attended the Jewish celebration of Purim.  It is likened to  modern Halloween celebrations. The Rabbi is the clown in the back row.

No sunset pictures today as I was busy with a formal dinner and other celebrations and party
