Saturday, our port of call was Takoradi, Ghana. TIt was originally a Dutch fort (1665) It was the first Ghana seaport strating in 1928. During WWii the British used it as a staging point for aircraft destined for Egypt.
The major exports the through the ports is cocoa, gold, timber products and oil.
We did not have any excursion planned here and were planning to just stay on the ship but when we saw the vendors set up on the pier we went out to spend some money. I heard theat taking the shuttle into town was work doing so I did that after lunch

I decided to take the free shuttle which went to a market arae
They are building a new Circular Market building but the vendors are using the sidewalks and sometime street to sell there wares
