Day 64 - Maputo, Mozambique

Today we are at the half way point of our cruise (in days). For  the distance sailed, we passed half-way last Saturday (total distance approx 34,000 nautical miles).  The city started as a fishing village over 500 years ago. It got it's name from the Portuguese trader who first explored the region in 1544.  Maputo is the capital of Mozambique

Our excursion here was "A Walk through Maputo". We saw the Central Railway Station, the Central Market and the Fortress of Maputo on a 4 hour  walking tour.
