Day 7 - Fuerte Amador, Panama

 Monday, we were in Fort Amador. This is an ex-US Army base that protected the entrance to the canal when the USA controlled it.  Monday was a national holiday - Martyr's Day.   It is a national day of mourning commemorating the anti-american riots over  the sovereignty of the Panama Canal Zone on Jan 9 1964.  Most of the museums etc, .were closes but the main shopping mall was mostly open. They had a free shuttle to the mall. Mid-afternoon we had some excitement. Lightning struck an antennae on the top  of the ship and broke a small hole in the plexiglass roof of the lido pool area. I was in the Crowsnest room at front of ship and heard the loud bang. The captain announced this afternoon the we are changing from masks required indoors (which has been effect since the start of the cruise) to masks recommended indoors. The number of positive test results is declining.
