Day 19 - Papeete, Tahiti, French Polynesia

Saturday we were in Papeete, Tahiti. We arrived before sunrise. Our excursion here was a drive around the main part of the islands, stopping at a few stops. We will overnight nere and sail to ur next port early in the morning

Our first stop was at Point Venus. This is where Captain James Cook landed and watched the transit of Venus across the sun in 1769. There is also a lighthouse completed in 1867

Papeete is the capital of French Polynesia. This is on of the government buildings
