Day 3 - Falmouth, Jamaica

 

Thursday we visited Falmouth on the north coast of  Jamaica between . In the 1800's it was a major sugar  exporting port and fortification.

they built a new cruise port about 10 years ago

we first visited an old church - the Trelawny Parish  Church of St. Peter the Apostle built in 1795


we then went to see one of the old great houses. This one is Greenwood Great House completed in 1800. It was owned by one of the sugar plantation owners - the family of English poet Elizabeth Barrett-Browning.
