Day 122 - Praia di Vitoria, Terceira, Azores, Portugal

Friday, our port-of-call was Praia di Vitoria on the island of Terceira in the Azores.  

This is our last port before we sail accross the Atlantic for six days

Our excursion today was "Terceira Island Highlifgts"









No sunrise to see this morning.

Our first stop was at the top of the volcano crater





Very strong winds at the viewpoint.

There are guns from WWII  guarded the city














A couple of peacocks were seen

And a male peacock showed up






Our bus only had a few inches on each side going through the old gate


On to the next stop, The town of Angra do Heroismo (The City of Lords). TSite. is a UNESCO World Heritage  It was the capital  of the island for 300+ years

Next we visited the town of San Sebastian on the east coast . This is the San Sebastion church.

We made one last stop at the top of the hill near the city

The sun was visable a couple of hours befor sunset time

But then the fog and clouds set in.
