Day 116 - Oban, Scotland, United Kingdom

 

Saturday, we were in Oban, Scotand. This was a new port for us.

Our excursion was "Inveraray Castle"

Inveraray Castle is a country house near Inveraray in the county of Argyll in western Scotland. on the shore of Loch Fyne, Scotlands longest sea loch. It has been the seatof the Dukes of Argyll, chiefs of the Clkan Campbell since the 18th century. It opened in 1789. Te 13th Earl of Argyll, Sir Torquhil Ian Campbell livesin a private part of the castle. He was seen running the cash register of the gift shop the morning we were there.

No sun to be seen at sunrise time. Just shoreline of the approach to the bay

 


We had a piper welcoming us.

I dropped into the shop of the local Irish Whiskey Distillery to but a bottle of 14 year old
