Monday, we were in St. Anthony, at the northern tip to Newfoundland, Canada. Our excursion today to to the Viking settlement at L'Anse aux Meadows (translates to Bay with grasslands). They have determined that this settlement was established about 1020 AD by Leif Ericksen.

a recreation of a Viking cargo knarr boat named Snorri (name of the first European heritage child born in North America).. It was actually sailed from Greenland to Newfoundland in 1997.
