Monday we sailed into the port of Leixoes so we could visit Porto. The second largest city in Portugal sits on the Douro River. In the past, cruises ships sailed up the river to dock at Porto but recently they created a cruise ship terminal on the Atlantic coast. The Douro river valley is famous for the production of Port Wines. Our excursion was "Porto Highlights". We visited the Cathedral of Porto, the Burmester Port cellars and the old Stock Exchange Palace.
