Day 9 - Salaverry (Trujillo) Peru
Today we docked in the port of Salaverry and visited the city of Trujillo. It is very dry here. They have built chanals from the mountains to get water for irrigation. This time we were docked next to a freighter unloading ground corn. This is the area were the Moche civilization flourished 2000 years ago before the Inca took over. We visited one of the old temples - the Temple of the Moon. Then we visited the main city square then went to an exhibition of Peruvian Paso horses.
