Today we visited the city of Santa Marta, the oldest city in Columbia.
This is a city of about 500,000 on the north east coast of Columbia. It was founded in about 1525 and is famous for be the place where Simon Bolivar died. We docked at berth used for shipping coal. We watched them moving coal around all day right next to us. We visited a historical and gold museum, the main cathedral (one of the places where Simon Bolivar had been buried) and the old city square. We walked along some of the narrow old streets. Then we drove up into the hills and visited the place where Simon Bolivar died.
