Day 5 - At Sea

Wednesday was a sea day sailing south-west towards Columbia. It was a quiet day with a leisurely breakfast in the main dinning room. I also had time for some bird picture taking. We also had a "Block Party" where we meet passengers in our neighboring cabins in the hallways, The ship provided wine and snacks and ship  officers come around.

I haven't pointed out yet that we are only about half capacity in passengers so we have had no problems with crowds and finding tables to eats at or seats in the theater or getting on and off the ship. Two years ago when Holland America was planning their future Grand cruises they decided to have both a  2025 128 day  Grand World Voyage and  this 2025 133 day  Grand  Pole-to-Pole cruise. The have found they over estimated the potential number of passenger who would take these long cruises so each cruise is sailing at about half capacity. This is the first time they have ever done 2 Grand cruises (usually 90+ days)  at the same time. I don't think they will try that again.

The start of sunrise

There were some Masked Boobies around the ship today.

Caught this one diving into the sea

Each sea day, the cruise and entertainment director chats with crew staff members. Today was the Food and Beverage Manager.

In Port Talks, they give us information about getting around and what to do and see while in the next  port.

Lunch time in the Lido restaurant.

Just a bit of color for sunset. There was a heavy band of cloud on the horizon so I did not see the sun setting
