Day 6 - Santa Marta, Columbia

 Thursday, our port of call was Santa Marta, Columbia. This was the first Spanish settlement in Columbia founded in 1525. The population is a little over 1/2 a million.  Our walking excursion today was  "Latin Beats & Historical City Walk".

There was also an AIDA Cruise ship in port with us.

This is an industrial port. We docked beside a  coal shipping facility.  Coal bisquettes is the second largest  export of Caolumbia.

On shuttle ride back to the ship (they don't allow you to walk in the industrial  port so shuttles must be used)  coal briquettes being deposited  for loading onto ships.

Strongs winds required that each of the ships needed 2 tugs to help get out of the port safely.
